  • Final Summer Market & Dogden Festival

  • Sat, Sept 13, 8am–1pm

  • This week’s market goes to the dogs with Dogden, Ogden’s 1st annual dog festival taking over the market! This free “puppy pawty” includes a dog parade (9am), agility demos, pet vendors, and contests with prizes. Register your pup in advance to snag a Dogden bandana, or just come enjoy the tail-wagging fun.

  • Tue, Sept 9, 5:30–7:00pm

  • A laid-back community meet-up hosted by Trails Foundation of Northern Utah at UTOG Brewing’s patio.

  • All are welcome (kids and dogs too!) to hang out, chat trails, and enjoy a brew outdoors. ($20 suggested donation, supports local trails).

  • Tue, Sept 9, 5:30–7:30pm

  • Bring your art or craft project to the Artisan Collective (2371 Kiesel Ave) and create alongside fellow makers. Whether you paint, knit, bead or draw – drop in for free and make new creative friends while you work on your latest project. (Occurs every 2nd Tuesday.)

  • Sat & Sun, Sept 13–14, 12–6pm

  • Welcome fall with a German twist up at Snowbasin Resort. This ongoing Oktoberfest (running weekends through Oct. 12) offers Bavarian food and beer, live music, family activities, and gorgeous mountain views.

  • Entry is $10 and good for an afternoon of beer-garden gemütlichkeit. Prost!

  • Sat, Sept 13, 10am–4pm

  • Step back in time with the Weber County Heritage Foundation’s annual historic home tour. This year explores the Eccles Historic District, where Ogden’s influential families (Eccles, Browning, Wattis, etc.) built early 20th-century mansions. Many homes open their doors to the public only on this day – a rare chance to see exquisite Prairie and Neoclassical architecture up close. Hear the stories of the families and craftsmen behind these homes on this guided tour. Tickets are required (purchase via Eventbrite), with proceeds supporting historic preservation.

  • Sat, Sept 13, 11am–5pm

  • Hunt for one-of-a-kind art and vintage finds at this outdoor community art market presented by local collective Hey Be Fab. Taking place in the Oasis Community Garden (2445 Monroe Blvd), the yART Sale will host a mix of artists, makers, and yard-sale style booths – a casual artsy bazaar that’s free to attend. Come browse, enjoy live music, and support local creatives.

Arts & Culture

  • Mon, Sept 8, 7:00pm

  • Historian Dr. George Schild kicks off the fall lecture series at WSU (Lindquist Hall 101). His talk, “From the Declaration of Independence to the Constitution,” examines how those two founding documents provided stability vs. liberty in the new American republic. This engaging history lecture is free and open to the public (no tickets needed).

  • The Ziegfeld Theater’s fall musical is in full swing.

  • Catch it this week on Sept 11–13 if you haven’t already. (Tickets ~$27.)

  • Sept 10–13, 7:00pm

  • Head up to North Ogden’s Barker Park Amphitheater for an outdoor production of the upbeat ’50s-era musical Bye Bye Birdie. Performances run Wednesday through Saturday this week at 7pm (with additional dates later in the month). Tickets are just $10 at the gate, making it an affordable night of live theater under the stars.

  • Ogden Contemporary Arts Center (455 25th St) hosts a free collage & painting workshop with artist Susan Sbarge as part of their monthly “Artist Factory” series.

  • All ages and skill levels are welcome – materials are provided, and you’ll get to create your own mixed-media masterpiece to take home.

  • Weber State University’s Austad Auditorium comes alive with showtunes as the New American Philharmonic and soloists present A Salute to Broadway.

Live Music & Nightlife

  • If you need a laugh, Wiseguys Comedy Club on 25th Street has you covered. Nationally touring comedian Heath Harmison brings his high-energy, family-man humor for two nights.

  • Wind down mid-week with Jazz Night at Two Bit Bistro (2510 Washington). Enjoy dinner or drinks to the sounds of live jazz – hosted by local musicians Alan & Pepper

  • Free entry, all ages. (This mellow jazz jam happens every Wednesday at 6pm.)

  • Sun, Sept 14, 5–10pm

  • An evening art market + open mic + live DJ event at Dumke Arts Plaza downtown. Free and open to all ages, first Sundays through Oct – this week featuring local poets and DJs under the stars.

Sports & Rec

  • Tue, Sept 9, 4:30–9:30pm

  • Cheer on the next generation of cowboys and cowgirls at the Golden Spike Event Center. Youth riders (ages 2–14) will compete in barrel racing, roping, and more – come support these talented kids as they showcase incredible rodeo skills. Free admission for spectators, family-friendly fun in the arena.

  • Fri–Sat, Sept 12–13

  • “Saddle up” for two full days of competitive cattle sorting at Golden Spike! Teams of riders will test their precision and teamwork as they cut and sort cattle against the clock. Spectators get in free. Action runs roughly 10am–5pm each day in the indoor arena – stop by to experience this unique Western sport up close.

  • Sat, Sept 13, races 4–10pm

  • Feel the adrenaline at Utah’s premier off-road racing event – newly relocated to Ogden! Short-course offroad races will roar through the Golden Spike fairgrounds track, featuring side-by-side UTV races, “Van Prix” minivan races (yes, really!), trophy trucks and more. It’s family-friendly with food trucks, music, vendors and giveaways for all ages.

  • Gates open 3pm; tickets $15 online or $20 at gate (kids 15 and under free). If you like motorsports action, you’ll love this hilarious and high-octane night at the track.

  • Find your zen mid-week with a free yoga class Wednesday at 6:30pm, hosted by the Main Library (2464 Jefferson Ave).

  • All ages and experience levels welcome. Stretch and de-stress in a quiet library space after a long day – no cost, just bring a mat. (Weekly on Wednesdays).

  • A season-long challenge by Trails Foundation of Northern Utah to summit 4 iconic peaks (Malans, Lewis, Mt. Ogden & Ben Lomond) between now and Oct 14.

  • Sign up ($30, dogs $20) to bag as many peaks as you can – earn a unique sticker for each summit and a prize if you complete all four.

Civic Engagement

  • Tue, Sept 9, 6:00pm

  • The City Council will hold its regular meeting at 6pm in the Council Chambers at Municipal Building (2549 Washington Blvd).

  • The Arts Advisory Committee meets at the Union Station campus to discuss public art projects, grants, and upcoming cultural events.

  • Open to the public – local artists and art lovers can attend to stay informed on Ogden’s arts initiatives.

  • Mon–Fri, Sept 8–12

  • Weber State University invites the community to roll up their sleeves in the annual WSU vs. USU blood donation battle. Donate blood on campus (Shepherd Union Ballrooms) any day this week to help Weber State beat Utah State in this friendly competition.

Volunteer Opportunities: Make a difference in our community – Ogden Downtown Alliance is seeking volunteers for the upcoming Harvest Moon Festival and other fall events (check their website to sign up). The Weber County Heritage Foundation also welcomes volunteers (tour guides, greeters) for the Sept 13th Architecture Tour – volunteers get free tour admission. It’s a great way to get involved, meet people, and support local culture.

Public Meetings & Hearings: No major public hearings are scheduled this week. However, the Western Weber Planning Commission holds a work session on Sept 9 at 5:00pm (Weber Center) to discuss future development in unincorporated areas.
